Individual or groups may enter into a partnership with COSE in a number of ways: Organizing – COSE is regularly approached by groups of older people already – or potentially organized into a community based program. At a minimum COSE can supply materials on various aspect of organizing. (Brochure, Comics, Home Care, Burals Fund etc.) COSE community organizers can also facilitate a discussion with groups to determine the direction the group wishes to pursue. In areas where COSE already has community based programs, COSE can request older people from established communities to support the organizing in the requested area. Other NGO’s with a significant elderly population (eg farmers, women, urban poor etc) may wish to network with COSE in order to develop programs for older people within their organization. Volunteer – COSE has availed of the services of a number of volunteers who offer their time and expertise. In a number of cases, they have been older people themselves offering their wisdom and experiences. |
